There is a colourful beauty and a peaceful symmetry often found where sand meets the sea. The subtle play of light on clouds both loftily near and sweepingly far introduces an undeniable harmony of hues and shades. And the slightest changes of slope, the work of the wind, and the wet of a receding tide on the beach rivals the complexity of the canopy’s composition. Then consider the energy and captivating patterns of the rhythmic waves born of the wind and the touch of the approaching shore. Beauty is truly in the eye of the beholder, but it is only named and appreciated in the human mind. And in that we are specially blessed and equally held stewardly accountable. Without a human awareness, surely there exists a disquieting and profound loneliness to a beach and to all natural beauty.
